FAQs

Do I need a consultation first?

Not typically. Your scheduled appointment includes consultation to determine the best course of action for you. The only time we would schedule a separate consultation is if you have had permanent make-up done before or have a skin condition we need to review.

How long is the healing time?

Initially, after the procedure, the brow will be slightly red and much darker than your desired look. This is normal and part of the healing process. Over the next 10 days your brows will start to scab and the color will start to lighten 30-50% from treatment day. It is very important that you do NOT pick your scabs. The pigment is attached to the scab and you do not want to prematurely pull any of the color off of the skin. It will take approximately 7-14 days for the skin to fully heal and about a month for the color to fully set in. Complete healing process can take up to 6 weeks.

How long does it last?

The pigment used is semi-permanent and lasts between 1-3 years, Depending on skin type. Sun exposure, medications, skin care products, smoking etc. can all factor in to how quickly your permanent makeup will fade. A touch up is suggested every 18-24 months to keep your brows looking fresh.

Does it hurt?

A topical anesthetic is applied prior to procedure. Most clients feel little to no pain.

Can you Microblade over existing tattoo?

Please advise if you have had previous Microblading. You must submit a clear picture to determine if you are a good candidate. Some removal may be required in order to achieve the desired look.

Who is NOT a good candidate?

  • Pregnant or nursing clients
  • Sick (cold,flu etc)
  • Have diabetes (please provide a Dr’s note)
  • Any serious medical conditions (epilepsy, pacemaker, major heart problems)
  • Any medical condition that affects the immune system/compromised healing.
  • Lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine or epinephrine allergies
  • Accutane in past 1 year
  • On Chemotherapy (consult your Dr)
  • Botox in last 2 weeks

What are the before care instructions?

  • Do not exercise the day of procedure
  • No tanning or sunburn
refrain from heavy alcohol use 48 prior to procedure
  • No waxing/brow coloring at least 3 days before procedure
  • Refrain from aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin, vitamin E (fish oil) 24 hours prior
  • No method of hair removal 2 weeks prior
  • No Botox 2 weeks before of after procedure

What are the after care instructions?

Your post procedure care consists of cleaning your eyebrows with our aftercare pads for the first 4 hours every hour after your procedure and then implementing 10 days dry healing. This means that your brows cannot get wet at all. We will provide you with protective visors for showering. It would be best to wash and cleanse your face with a washcloth or wipes for these ten days to avoid any splashing on your brows. In addition, no profuse sweating, no creams, no makeup directly on the brows, and no sun exposure (if you know you will need to be in the sun for extended periods of time you must wear a wide brimmed hat). You must let the scabbing process happen naturally. This is very important for your retention and skin healing. Do NOT pick at the scabs, scratch your brows, peel your scabs off, or scrub the area. This can result in scarring and will affect your overall retention of the pigment. After 10 days you may resume your normal life and beauty routines.
